New ‘Double Play’ Feature Gives Powerball Players Second Chance to Win up to $10 Million
WASHINGTON, DC –DC Lottery is giving its Powerball® players more chances to win cash prizes with the addition of Powerball Double Play®. This new add-on option will allow players another chance to match their Powerball numbers in a separate drawing with a top cash prize of up to $10 million.
Sales for the Double Play add-on started Sunday, July 14.
“We’re giving players across the District additional opportunities to win with Powerball, one of our most popular lottery games,” said Frank Suarez, the Executive Director at the DC Lottery. “Players tell us they like to play for big jackpots and cash prizes, and Double Play is a new way for players to win millions.”
Players can add the Double Play® feature to their Powerball ticket for an additional $1 per play. The same set of numbers are eligible for both the main Powerball drawing and the Double Play drawing. The Double Play drawing is held after every Powerball drawing on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday.
Players can include the Power Play® and Double Play features on their Powerball tickets. However, the Power Play multiplier does not apply to prizes won in the Double Play drawing.
