DC Lottery Kicks Off First POWERBALL Millionaire of the Year Promotion

Washington, DC – The DC Lottery is offering its players a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to kick off the New Year $1 million richer.

On September 1, 2019, the DC Lottery, in conjunction with POWERBALL® , will launch the First POWERBALL Millionaire of the Year^SM second chance promotion in which Powerball players in Washington, DC could win a trip to New York City to celebrate New Year's Eve in Times Square along with a chance to win an additional $1 million!

POWERBALL tickets purchased September 1 through September 30, 2019 may count toward entry in the promotion. The special drawing for the First POWERBALL Millionaire of the Year will occur on January 1, 2020, just after midnight, during ABC’s live broadcast of Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest. “We’re always looking to bring exciting winning opportunities to our players,” says Nicole Jordan, Director of Marketing for the DC Lottery. “An entertainment-filled three-day excursion to New York on the precipice of the new year with the added chance to come home $1 million richer--this totally fits within our excitement requirements!”

About the contest:
From the drawing held on October 2, 2019, DC Lottery will send five winners and their guests to New York City this New Year's Eve to attend an exclusive POWERBALL party in Times Square. Each trip prize winner will also be eligible to win an additional $1 million.

How to enter:
Purchase $6 or more on a single Powerball ticket and a Second Chance prize code will be printed on the bottom of the ticket. Enter the Second Chance prize code at DCLottery.com for a chance to win.

Event highlights:
More than 300 winners from 25 lottery jurisdictions will head to New York City in late December to enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime trip experience, including the Christmas Spectacular Starring the Radio City Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall and holiday cruise on the Hudson River with dinner and entertainment.
