How and Where to Claim DC Lottery Prizes
It's easy to collect your prize. Claim locations vary by prize amount. Find out where you can claim your prize below.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the DC Lottery Prize Center is open by appointment only for prize claims of over $5,000. No walk-ins will be accepted. Mail-in claims are also encouraged. Players should redeem winning tickets up to $600 at any DC Lottery retailer and prizes up to $5,000 at any of the DC Lottery’s Retailer Plus locations throughout the city.

Claim any prize up $600 in any DC Lottery Retailer or by mail.

Required to complete prize claim over $600:
- Original winning ticket (sign the back)
- Original Photo ID (must be an unexpired, valid, government-issued photo ID- driver’s license, state-issued ID or passport)
- Original Social Security card (must exactly match name on photo ID)
- Office of Lottery and Gaming claim form

Claim by Appointment
Prize Center Hours: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday
To make an appointment to claim a prize of $5,000 or larger, call: 202-645-8000
To claim in person, you must make an appointment and have a prize of $5,000 and larger to claim. No guests will be allowed to accompany the player/claimant inside the Prize Center except for those requiring an accommodation for a disability or as an interpreter.
Players must wear a face covering to enter the building and at all times while inside the Prize Center.
Lottery staff will follow health and safety protocols during appointments, which includes wearing masks, observing social distancing, and frequently disinfecting shared or common surfaces. Appointments will be scheduled 60 minutes apart.
The Lottery asks that players who have an appointment to take the following precautions:
- Arrive no more than 5 minutes before your scheduled appointment. Anyone arriving more than 5 minutes before their appointment time, will be asked to wait outside the building. Anyone who is more than 10 minutes late to their appointment will have to reschedule for another time. Parking at 2235 Shannon Place, SE is limited so plan accordingly.
- You must wear a face covering at all times.
- No guests will be allowed to accompany the player inside the office unless necessary to assist players/claimants as an accommodation for a disability or as an interpreter.
- During the appointment, you must observe social distancing, follow directional signs and floor markings.
- You will need to bring all required documentation to claim a prize. Claimants must bring two forms of identification with them to their Prize Center appointment: a valid government-issued photo ID (driver’s license, state-issued ID or passport) and a Social Security card. The claimant’s name (first and last name, middle initial or name, Jr., etc.) must match exactly on both of the identification documents, or the DC Lottery will be unable to process the ticket.
- A maximum of 10 prize claims will be processed per appointment.
- If you have registered a fever in the last 14 days or have been in close proximity to anyone who tested positive for COVID-19 must schedule their prize claim appointment for a later date or you should mail in your prize claim.
These precautions are meant to increase everyone’s safety. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Claim Your Prize by Mail
Prize claims of any amount can be mailed to the DC Lottery’s Prize Center. Players seeking to claim prizes of $5,000 or larger should contact the Prize Center at 202-645-8000 for additional guidance.
To claim a ticket by mail, sign and fill out the information on the back of the ticket. Then complete a winner claim form, include a copy of your driver’s license, state-issued ID or passport and Social Security card, and send it in with the original winning ticket to:

The DC Lottery is not responsible for tickets lost in the mail and recommends players use trackable mail services when sending in their winning ticket(s).
All mail-in claims for draw games (DC-2, DC-3, DC-4, DC-5, Powerball, Mega Millions, Keno, Race2Riches, and The Lucky One) must be postmarked within 180 days of the official winning draw date for the winning ticket presented for claim. Mail-in claims for Instant Tickets must be postmarked within 180 days of the announced end-of-game date for the winning Instant Ticket presented for claim.

All prizes of $4,999.99 or less are automatically deposited into your iLottery account.
Prizes of $5,000.00 and larger
If you win a prize of $5,000.00 and larger, you will need to visit the DC Lottery Prize Center for payment. You will need to make an appointment by calling 202-645-8000. The Prize Center is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
You must present original copies of your valid government-issued photo ID (state-issued driver’s license, non-driver identification, or a United States Passport ID), Social Security card, and the 30-digit Voucher ID that corresponds with your win in order to claim a prize. Note: The name on the photo ID and the Social Security card must match exactly. These identification documents must also match with the information contained in the player profile of the iLottery account associated with the 30-digit Voucher ID presented for claim.
The Voucher ID corresponding with your win must be presented on paper by printing either the screen, a screenshot, or taking a picture. You can find this 30-digit Voucher ID by going to your account, selecting Gaming History, and then clicking on the winning voucher.
You can save some time by filling out and bringing a completed claim form to your appointment.

All prizes of $9,999.99 or below are automatically deposited into your iLottery account.
Prizes of $10,000.00 and larger
If you win a prize of $10,000.00 or larger, you will need to visit the DC Lottery Prize Center to claim and receive payment. Prize claims are by appointment only and can be made by calling 202-645-8000. The Prize Center is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
You must present originals of their valid government-issued photo ID (state-issued driver’s license, non-driver identification, or a United States Passport ID), Social Security card, and the 36-character alphanumeric Voucher ID that corresponds with your win in order to claim a prize. Note: The names on the photo ID and the Social Security card must match exactly. These identification documents must also match with the information contained in the player profile of the iLottery account associated with the 36-character alphanumeric Voucher ID presented for claim.
The Voucher ID must be corresponding with your win must be presented on paper by printing either the screen, a screenshot, or taking a picture. You can find this 36-alphanumeric Voucher ID by going to your account, selecting Gaming History, and then clicking on the winning voucher.
