WASHINGTON, DC– James Worsely of Maryland arrived at the DC Lottery’s headquarters donning a face mask., but his elation of winning a $25,000 A Year for Life prize in the Lucky for Life™ game was apparent through his person protection gear as he sat in his vehicle awaiting curbside claim service.

Mr. Worsley won the multi-state game’s 2 nd tier prize after matching the first five numbers (35-11-4-3-23) drawn in the Thursday, April 30, 2020 drawing. He is the fourth DC Lottery player to claim a $25,000 A Year for Life prize since the game’s launch in 2015.

When asked how he found out about his big win, Mr. Worsley replied, “I was out getting gas and thought I’d check my tickets. I knew I had something when the guy behind the counter said he couldn’t cash the ticket. It wasn’t until I called the Lottery office that I found out how much I’d actually won. It still hasn’t quite sunk in.”

Drawn every Monday and Thursday and played in 25 US states and the District of Columbia, the top prize for Lucky for Life™ is $1,000 A Day for Life. The 2nd prize is $25,000 A Year for Life. The “for life” prizes in the game are payable for the length of the winner’s natural life, with payments guaranteed for a minimum of 20 years.
