With pep in her step and humbled grin, Alice Thomas was announced as the $250,000 grand prize winner of The Big Payback II. Shy, but confident, Alice hopped on stage and said that she believed she would win the big prize. She joined Interim Executive Director Tracey Cohen and other DC Lottery staff on stage and stood in quiet celebration. "I'm fine," she grinned as confetti burst in celebration of her big win. Alice has played the DC Lottery for 10 years and entered the second chance contest playing Fast Play Black Jack.
The retired accountant worked in the federal government in the Department of Housing and Urban Development for 50 years. She intends to share the money with her family, invest and continue to Play Responsibly with the DC Lottery.
