Add the Power Play® option for an extra $1 per line of play and multiply your winnings up to ten times the original amount (excluding jackpot and Match 5 prize)*. The Power Play multiplier (2, 3, 4, 5 or 10) is drawn before the Powerball winning numbers. The Power Play 10X multiplier applies only to drawings with jackpots of $40 million to $150 million.
For an additional $1 per play, choose the Double Play® option, and you will have a second chance to match your Powerball numbers in an additional drawing conducted immediately after the Powerball drawing.

Powerball costs $2 per play. Select five numbers between 1 and 69 for the white balls, then select one number between 1 and 26 for the red Powerball. Choose your numbers on a play slip or let the lottery terminal randomly pick your numbers. Drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 pm ET. To watch the drawings, click HERE. The Powerball jackpot grows until it is won. Players win a prize by matching one of the 9 ways to win. The jackpot is won by matching all five white balls in any order and the red Powerball.
Power Play®
Ask for Power Play with your Powerball purchase! For an additional $1 per play, the Power Play feature can multiply non-jackpot prizes by 2, 3, 4, 5 or 10 times! The multiplier number is randomly selected before each drawing. The 10X multiplier is only in play when the advertised jackpot annuity is $150 million or less. The Match 5 prize with Power Play is always $2 million.
Double Play®
Play your Powerball numbers again in the Double Play drawing! Double Play is an add-on feature that gives you another chance to match your Powerball numbers in a separate drawing with a top cash prize of $10 million. Add the Double Play feature to your Powerball ticket for an additional $1 per play. Play the same set of numbers in the main Powerball drawing and Double Play drawing. Powerball tickets that include the Double Play feature are eligible to win prizes in both drawings.
You may include both the Power Play and Double Play features on your Powerball ticket, however, the Power Play multiplier does not apply to prizes won in the Double Play drawing.

Choose your own numbers on the bet slip. Select five numbers from one through sixty-nine, then select one POWERBALL number from one through twenty-six.

Power Play with Multiplier: Multiplies prizes by 2, 3, 4, 5 or 10! Power Play costs an additional $1 for each $2 bet and can only be purchased along with a base Powerball game play. What are the payment options?
Jackpot winners may choose to receive their prize as an annuity, paid in 30 graduated payments over 29 years, or a lump-sum payment. Both advertised prize options are prior to federal and jurisdictional taxes.
What is Double Play?
Double Play offers another chance to win! For just an extra $1, Double Play enters a player’s Powerball numbers into a second drawing. This opportunity provides the chance to win additional prizes, up to $10 MILLION!
Can players buy Double Play- only tickets?
No! Double play is an optional feature you can add to your Powerball ticket. To use it, you need to buy a $2 Powerball ticket and pay an extra $1 for the double play option.
Can players buy a Powerball ticket with both the Power Play and Double Play options?
Yes! Power Play and Double Play can be added to any Powerball ticket.
Does the Power Play multiplier apply to Double Play prizes?
No! The Power Play multiplier only applies to prizes won in the Powerball drawing. Prizes won in the Double Play drawing cannot be multiplied.
Will players receive separate numbers for the Double Play drawing?
No! When you buy a Powerball ticket and add Double Play for $1, that ticket is valid for both drawings.
Are Powerball prizes changing because of Double Play?
No! The Powerball prize structure will remain the same. Double Play has its own prize structure.
What time are the drawings?
The Powerball drawing takes place at 10:59 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays & Saturdays. Double Play is a second drawing that happens at 11:29 p.m.,30 minutes after each Powerball drawing, giving you the chance to win in both the Powerball and Double Play drawings.
The ticket, not the bet slip, shall be the only valid proof of the selections made and the only valid instrument for claiming a prize.
Players must be 18 years or older to purchase tickets.
By purchasing a ticket, you agree to be bound by all rules and regulations of the DC Lottery.
