Yang Zhang

Once or twice a week, Yang Zhang visits his cousin in Washington, D.C. When he does, he and his cousin along with a friend always buy D.C. Lottery scratchers. The last time the trio met up, Zhang won $10,000 with the $10 D.C. Scratcher Diamonds and Pearls. "I was in shock...They kept asking me, 'Are you sure?'" Laughing, he added, "the most we've won is $500. They thought I was joking." Zhang, who lives in Silver Spring, MD, bought his winning ticket at International Progresso Market, 7719 Georgia Ave., NW, and said he plans to use his winning to pay off his car. After that, he'll have a few dollar left over to take his buddies out to dinner. Congrats!!!
