After working the midnight shift, Eldred Boria of Baltimore, Maryland stopped at 7-Eleven, 218 Cedar Street, N.W. to get his usual cup of coffee and D.C. Scratcher. "I usually play the $1, $2, or $5 games, and I scratch all of the numbers first, then look at the prize amounts." Boria immediately knew that he had won a prize, but he didn't know the amount until he scratched the ticket a second time revealing the $50,000 cash prize! "I saw all those zeroes, and I was confused," Boria recalled. "I had to ask them to check the ticket again to make sure I was reading it correctly." Indeed he was. Boria plans to use his winnings to pay off his credit cards, take a vacation with his wife, and save the rest.
