Darryl Wormley

Darryl Wormley is a patient man. He purchased a winning DC 5 ticket almost a year ago. He knew it was worth $50,000, but thought he'd sit on it. "I knew I'd won from hearing it on the radio. Wanted to hold on to it. I knew it was getting close to the date, so I thought I'd go on in," says the regular D.C. Lottery player. Wormley says he'll put the money away for his grandkids and advises fellow lottery players to, "Keep your numbers in!" The D.C. Lottery reminds players that all prizes must be claimed within one year from the date of the drawing, one year from the official close of an instant "scratch" ticket game or a lesser period authorized by the Executive Director for bonus games or drawings.
