1. What types of card payments are accepted?

DC Lottery self-service machines now accept debit cards.

2. How does it work?

- Select the amount you want to play.

- Insert, swipe, or tap your card.

- Enter the pin if needed.

3. Can I put certain dollar amounts on the machine?

You must select one of these four options - $10, $20, $50, or Other. Selecting Other will allow you to choose a different option.

4. Can I cancel the transaction?

No, your transaction cannot be canceled once you make a purchase using a debit card.

5. Can I withdraw money I didn’t use to make a purchase on the self-service terminal?

You are not able to “cash out” unused funds on self-service machines. 

6. Who do I contact if I have problems using my debit card at the self-service terminal?

Please contact the retailer with any questions.

7. Who do I contact with questions about my debit card bill or statement?

Please contact your bank or card issuer with any questions.

8. Can I use my debit card at the cash register?

It depends. Each retail location determines if they will accept debit or credit cards at the register.

9. What are the minimum and maximum amounts I can play with my debit card?

On DC Lottery self-service machines, the limits are $2,000 per day, $10,000 per week, and $50,000 per month, per card.

10. Can I use mobile pay like Apple Pay or Google Pay?

Yes.
