How to Become a Retailer Application

Basic application requirements:

  • You must operate a lawful establishment in the District of Columbia, which is open to the public and maintains regular business hours.
  • You must post either a $50,000 bond from an insurance or surety company, or pay a $500 bond fee to the D.C. Lottery for the first two years of coverage.
  • You must pay a $50 credit report fee for each owner, partner, or officer of the business.
  • Your primary business cannot be solely the sale of D.C. Lottery products.
  • You cannot have a felony conviction within the previous five years prior to submitting your application.
